About the project

I guided students through developing an AI-powered grocery planning application specifically designed for international students facing budget constraints and cultural food needs. I mentored the team in identifying key user challenges including limited financial resources, unfamiliarity with local grocery stores, and lack of awareness about deals and pricing. During the design process, I provided feedback on their user flow architecture, helping them create a seamless experience from meal preference input to personalized grocery checklist generation. I supported their development of core features including AI-generated grocery lists, interactive browsing menus for meal exploration, and favorite checklist saving functionality. My guidance focused on addressing potential AI malfunctions, refining gesture-based interactions, and ensuring the app balanced affordability with cultural connection needs. Through iterative design reviews and storyboard development, I helped them create a practical solution that empowers students to shop smarter while maintaining access to ingredients for culturally meaningful meals within their tight budgets.
