Career Connect Canada
About the project
I guided students through developing an AI-powered educational pathway recommendation platform designed to help international students transition into Canadian academic programs without restarting their careers. I mentored the team in addressing their initial design challenges, including overly linear user flows and flat visual design that lacked interactivity. Through iterative feedback sessions, I helped them identify that their program cards needed visual depth and clearer interaction affordances, leading to design improvements including drop shadows, borders, and enhanced visual hierarchy. I facilitated their user testing methodology, helping them synthesize feedback about unclear button functionality and insufficient program information into actionable improvements. My guidance focused on addressing accessibility issues with their color palette, particularly the problematic yellow tertiary color, and supporting their development of key features like save functionality, direct program comparison tools, and AI-powered review summaries. Through structured critiques, I helped them evolve from a rigid, single-flow experience to a flexible platform that better serves older international students seeking second degrees as well as younger students exploring their first academic programs in Canada.
